Manchester City suspends Benjamin Mendy after rape allegations

Premier League Club Manchester City has provisionally suspended Benjamin Mendy after rape allegations against the 27-year-old. This confirmed the club in an official message.

The preceded crimes, among other things, is accused Mendy of four-fold rape and sexual coercion, should be committed between October 2020 and August 2021. The police Cheshire Constabuly has charged charges against the defender. Currently, Mendy is in custody.

The explanation of the police states that the allegations against the 27-year-olds relate to three different complainants.

In a statement, the police divided by Cheshire Constrabulary: The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorized Cheshire police to accuse a man in connection with the accusation of sexual coercion. Benjamin Mendy, 27 years old, is because of four times rape and unique sexual coercion has been charged.

Mendy occurred in July 2017 for a transfer fee of around 60 million euros from Monaco to City. The left-back had to fight with injuries during his time and came in just over four seasons to a total of only 75 missions.

He belonged to the French squad, who won the 2018 World Cup. This season he stood at the community shield against Leicester City and at the Premier League opening match against Tottenham in the starting eleven.
